PROGRAM PRINCIPLES

The International Outreach Community Service Program is designed to enable members to become better world citizens through advocacy, education, and action, which will in turn affect change in and for our global friends and their communities.

Our GFWC Community Service Projects for International Outreach have included:
  • Donating books for the Camel Bookmobile in Kenya
  • Donating books for Nomadic Schools in Kenya
  • Donating pens and pencils to a mission in India
  • Having Sarah Symons of "The Emancipation Network" speak at a meeting where members bought handcrafts "Made by Survivors" rescued by her network
  • Donating money to Water Centric to bring water, sanitation and hygiene educations to Indian (i.e. the country) schools in need
  • Knitting caps for Save the Children
 
Our GFWC PartnershipProjects for International Outreach have included:
  • Filling UNICEF trick-or-treat boxes
  • Donating to the Heifer Foundation. We have donated over $450 in the past two years and two of our members became Heifer volunteers.
  • Collecting for the United Nations "Shot@Life" Program
