The GFWC Public Issues Community Service Program is designed to enable members to continue its longstanding advocacy and proven historic involvement towards investigation and development of programs and projects relating to veterans, citizenship, and safety.

Chairman: Robin Gendron
Our Public Issues collaboration projects have included:
  • Donating to Quarters for Quarters to house a veteran
  • Sending school packs to soldiers in Iraq to distribute to children there, Operation Iraqi Children
  • Sending items on a platoon in Iraq's wish list for the holidays
  • Donating teddy bears for Taunton's Emergency Management Agency to be distributed to children with family emergencies along with 17 Jump Bags containing a teddy bear, children's book and blanket.
  • At Christmas members wrote and mailed cards to Holiday Mail for Heroes. The cards were given to veterans and soldiers around the world.
  • Members sent 60 bags containing wipes, chapstick, and batteries to a troop in Afghanistan.
  • The club currently has bins in the Taunton Public Library to collect items for the Marine Corps League to send to our troops.
